Rabindranath Tagore
Mother India has produced a galaxy of heroes. Rabindra Nath
Tagore was one of the brightest stars in the firmament of literature. He was a
great philosopher poet. He was born at Jorasanko in Kolkata on 7th
May Iin 1861. His father’s name was Maharshi Debendra Nath Tagore. Rabindra
Nath has a short period of schooling in Oriental Semenary. Letter he left
school. But he got a culture from his family. He learnt Indian and Foreign
classics. He was basically a poet. He wrote poems from his very childhood. He
also wrote songs, stories and novels. Painting was his passion. Poems are his
heart’s joy. Songs are his soul’s solace. Short stories are his mind’s pleasure
– his emotion and imagination. Tagore was a poet of vision and creative art. He
also get Nobel Prize for Gitanjali in 1913. Rabindra Nath started a school at Santiniketan,
Letter, it has become a university. Our (India’s) National anthem,
“Janaganamana Adhinayaka …….” was composed by Rabindra Nath Tagore. This great
poet passed away in 1941 but he is ever present in our heart we pay our due
homage to him..
